I am trying to run a thorough ScanDisk on my computer and it gets 3/4 of the way through, then stops and says it has had to restart 10 times. Can anyone tell me how to get it to run all of the way through without stopping? I am not running any other programs. I have Windows ME on my computer.

Thanks!!

Happened to me many times and it is aggravating. I found that I had to close everything else that might be running -- like the screensaver, antivirus, etc. You can run it from Safe Mode.

Turn your PC on or Restart. As soon as you see the black and white screen, press and hold the F8 key. Continue holding until you see a black and white menu. Safe Mode is F3 or F5. From Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, run Scandisk.

When it is finished, Restart. You will probably find your icons messed up. No biggee. Drag them back into place.

That's Windows ManyErrors for ya....Get rid of Windows ME and upload a respectable OS....Windows ME was released too early hence the reason that Windows XP came out just a short time after ME...Your computer can more than likely handle Windows XP...

I say you should just keep starting it back. Good luck!
