I really depends on what you want to do, if your are like the majority of people I've met that want to join the military they all say they want to be a sniper or in the community aka special forces. Well let me tell you what little I know..
If you want to join a group of guys who have a comrodery like none other, a small group of guys who will ***** and complain only to each other and not to the public or to the media, who will give the shirt off their back help you out whether your in or you've gotten out. A group of guys who have world renoun reputation for being the best of the best then you should join the United States Marines. But you must ask yourself some questions before you talk to a Marine recruiter, what can I offer to the Marines? Why do I want to join the Marines, is it because you want to get free money for college, is it so you can go see exotic places, is it so you can wear the best looking uniform in the world, or is it you want to gain confidence, is it becasue you want to earn honor, learn about integrity, gain courage not only under fire but courage to do the right thing. Is it something tangible that you want to gain or is it because of something intangible? If you want something tangible then join don't join the Marines we don't want your kind, I would even go as far as to say don't join the military at all. Another question you must ask yourself, if I enjoy it would I make it a career? If you are like the most of the guys I've talked to who want to be in the community then I'd say join the Army, there are opprotunities get into that than there are in the Marines. But if you are real gun ho and want to become a sniper then I would suggest the Marines, Marine Corps snipers are one of the best out of the all the branches. As for doing high speed stuff, the Marines have a couple of MOSs that you may like, Recon, and Force Recon, I believe as it stands now Force Recon is uner the special operations command I could be wrong, there is also the Fast Co. (I think thats what its called) but they are a very skilled group of Marines and as for their job ask their recuriter. If you are only wanting to your country for a min. 4 years and get a carreer after then I would suggest the Marines, there you will learn valuable skills, small unit leadership, in the Army it takes more time to get those positions, but that all depends on your job and the unit your in. I hope this info will point your in the right direction.

Finish high school first and then join the Marines. All branches of the service are honorable but I believe the Marines to be a "family" organization. There is a true brotherhood and commitment to other Marines that is different than other branches of the service. You may have heard the saying "once a Marine always a Marine". It's not for everyone..only the best!

no idea what your question was... but yah!!!

if you're asking if you should join the army or the marines, i'd say it's totally up to you. both of them have very similar functions, but are different in their own way as well. your choice whether to become a jarhead or a grunt. go talk to a local recruiter. but if you do, try not to mention that you're interested in the other branch. they'll start going off on the other branch and start talking about how much better the marines are than the army, and vise versa. choose wisely. if you wanna jump out of planes, go airborne with the army. if you wanna fly a hornet or a harrier, join the marines. if you wanna be a ranger, join the army. if you want to be first to action and on the first line, join the marines. like i said, it all really depends.

join whenever you feel like you're ready. don't push yourself and NEVER let a recruiter pressure you into any descision whatsoever. once you go to meps and take that physical, you'll sign your papers and BOOM. you're a depper. then, the second they drop you off at the hotel the day before your ship date, BAM. you're tied to that contract. you're talking about the next 4 years or maybe more of your life. becarefull.

what to work on: you physical fitness. run up hills. do a lot of cardio. lift wieghts. stretch (flexability will help you a lot). whatever branch you decide to join, see if you meet their PT standards. if not, ask yourself what you need to work on, then work on it. don't put off working out. once you get in shape, stay that way, don't slack. mentality is important too.
in the end, talk to a recruiter. he/she'll give you a run down on what you need to know before you enter bootcamp. they'll give you a PT (physical test) and they'll tell you what you need to work on.

good luck my man.

Sure,
What you should do prior to enlisting and when? Make sure you are in good condition, both physically and mentally. It takes both to succeed in the military. I enlisted in the Air Force when still a senior in high school. I was 16, turned 17 just prior to reporting. Mothers parental consent. I know the Army and Marines are a much needed force however didn't want to become Cannon fodder.
Be sure what you want. You will have to make some drastic changes in your life. The Mil. has to change your way of thinking. It can be difficult. Suggest counseling with a recruiter. Tell him/her to cut the BS and lay it out for you.

It is possible to join the united states military before you graduate highschool. If you are under 18 your parents will have to sign a consent form and you will be entered into D.E.P (Delayed Entry Program) They will help you prepare for your Asvab tests and even provide tutors if you are having academic troubles in school. If you are over or under weight they will help you set a diet and excercise plan to get you "up to par". At the present state of our country though I honestly (as a prior enlistman) would not reccomend Army OR Marines. I suggest you go Airforce or Navy or even check into the Army National Guard or Air National Guard.

My husband is a Marine, just retired. He was also a recruiter. My advice, when you take the test for which ever branch you decide. Make sure that you find out what your score needs to be in order to ensure that you have more options as far as a job in the military goes. Don't let them, (your recruiter) tell you that you are only qualified for a Combat MOS, (MOS=job). I think that the Marines are the best, but I've met really great honorable folks in the Army as well. Best of luck and be safe.

You can join the marines before you graduate high school.. it's called the delayed entry program. While you are in high school you will go once a week for pt with the marine recruiters and once a month on poo-lee exercises.

Yea you can join the military before you graduate, if you are under 18 you will need your parents permission. If you are looking for some good job skills the Navy or Air Force maybe better suited to provide those high tech skills.

First be very honest with yourself, since there are a few whining servicepeople griping about the war. Are you willing to enter the danger zone when asked by your country? You are going to volunteer so you shouldn't hold back. When you have clearly made up your mind, then ask the question. I joined the U.S.Marines after high school and was sent to Nam. I have no regrets.

take the ASVAB. You can't join the marines until you graduate highschool. You can join the army reserves before you graduate, but you won't have any options (for example, you AIT will have to be shorter than your summer vacation.)
