-- wrinkle his nose (or whatever he does) and magic up a better and less messy way to achieve that than a blood sacrifice?

To our 21st century sensibilities, absolutely.

But to a Bronze age culture mired in animal sacrifice and warfare, it made perfect sense. Then again, so did slavery, killing non-virgins on their wedding nights, murdering people for picking up sticks on Saturday, etc.

Unfortunately, many folks wish to live by 1st century ethics, instead of reaping the benefits of thousands of years of enlightenment and education.

God, could've done something to save our sins, that wasn't a blood sacrifice, but we ourselves chose this path to crucify him. God has always given us our choice. This choice is also what allows the Devil to work. For all we know, God could make us all be the same exact person, never sinning. But God wanted us to have a will and make our own choices. In the beginning, God gave Adam and Eve, freedom of will. Thats how they came to eat the Forbidden fruit. Of course, God told them not to do it. Even later on, the Devil was created because God gave him a choice to either stay in heaven, or try and overcome Him. Thus the Devil was born, from a fallen angel. Plus, it does help a lot of people remember that God sacrificed something so great, to save our sins. Its like why John the Baptist said that Jesus was the Lamb of God. This refers to the Israelites being saved by God, and the passover in which you sacrificed a lamb. In the same way, Jesus was the Lamb, and God had to sacrifice him to save us from our sins. Sure enough though, Jesus was resurrected and stayed on Earth a bit longer, until he left and was seated at the right hand of the Father.

No- because God is Holy, and we are not. ALL fall short of the glory of God. There is no forgiveness without the shedding of blood. Someone had to die in our place in order for us to be saved. That someone had to be perfect so Jesus came to earth for that purpose. He paid the price we could never pay. That is grace and mercy. Can't you see how much God loves you because of this- if all he did was wiggle his nose or whatever, that would be a magician, not God Almighty.

I'm not a scholar on the Old Testament ---> but studying archeology killing animals was a way for survival 5,000 years ago. They didn't have "King Soopers" or "Wal-Mart". Food wasn't pre-packaged. In fact, it was a celebration when meat was available. Ranching and farming were forming, but not perfected. So, when it came time to harvest, and feast, well it was a social event. All people nearby gather. Then the "Sacrifice" you speak of is a way of saying "Thanks God" and "Help God".

So, today, we don't have to all travel 5 miles on foot for food ... but a good Christian says, "Thank you God for this food that we're about to receive from your bounty" ---> so in many ways, you're living God's powers and enjoying food with ease.

I don't know of any Christians who practice the use of blood sacrifice after the Old Testament.....Do you? please enlighten me as to who these groups are.

Yeh ,I didn't think you could come up with any!

God can choose to forgive us in what ever manner He sees fit. He has a plan, and right now it does not include blood sacrifice

And what qualifies you to be the judge of God? Did you teach the hawk to fly, or give the horse strength to run, or teach the fish to swim? If you want someone to 'magic up' something, look to a wiccan, not to God.

Nope that's the whole point! God - a perfect, loving, holy entity not bound by time or space - I think you should not be so foolish oh man to think God would in some way change His standards for YOU or anyone else.

You know I get so tired of answering this question over and over. Blood had to be paid for blood. Adam because of his disobedience condemned us [[ his offspring]] to death, [[ he is our murderer]] a blood price should be paid for blood spilling. Adam for disobeying killed us all. From his time on down to us, Jesus pays the price of his blood [ his ransom, or buying us for God if we do as God wants us to do] This is why Jesus willingly shed his blood for us, because he loves us Proverbs 8

Sin is the guilt and condemnation to eternal suffering in hell. He gave us free choice and thinking therefore we made our own choice to plunge ourselves into sin. The only way he could save us was to get a perfect life to save us to prove that we cannot be all bad and put all the sins on that man. That is why Jesus is God and man.
