I am 27 and there is this older women who I am attracted to at a gas station. I would quess she is around 40, but she is so cute. She is only 4'9", I would quess, I am only 5'4". She has a lot of baggage though. She is recently divorced and her ex-husband is stalking her and is fighting for visitation rights of their kids. I don't know if she was hitting on me or not, but she was calling me sweetie, but maybe she tells everyone that. I am afraid she won't want to date a younger man. Also with her kids she probably isn't interested in dating now.

Oh Matt, definately get a feel for if she would go out with a younger guy. I'm 38 almost 39 and I'm totally in love, ok infatuated, and really adore this 26 year old guy. I've known him now for a year and sometimes I feel that he likes me too. But it never goes anywhere, and I'll never ask him out. So please do it for me, because at least someone else will find happiness. For all you know she's thinking about you right now and wishing you'd ask her out!!! But don't do it if you just want to sleep with her, because believe it or not. Us older women want more then friends with benefits. Good Luck!!!

Your 27? and you think she is around 40? OK, go find an older woman without any baggage. What if her crazy X, hunts her down and you are with her, and he shoots you instead of her? Stay away. Its not the age, its the baggage. Plus, she has kids with another man. Who cares that she called you Sweetie. Find another Gas station.

If it were just an age issue then I would say that I think you should pursue her and see what happens. But considering there is a stalking ex-husband and kids it just sounds like it's a very messy situation. You are young and there are so many single women out there for you to choose from. If you are really serious about finding someone then try choosing a dating web site.

Some people call everyone "sweetie" so don't assume that means interest.

I wouldn't say her age is any reason not to ask her out, however her "baggage" is. At 27 do you really want to get involved with someone toting all that around and probably the drama that goes along with it? Think about it...

my boyfriend had a relationship with an older woman. who was 21 at the time slept with a 40 year old woman. he said he felt a bit used afterwards. the age isnt awkward, its the reasons you would be both doing this for that needs to be established

Stick with friendship for now. Give her time to get her life back in order. Once that happens if you still feel the same than ask her out.

My only reservation would be the stalking ex-husband.
The age difference wouldn't concern me ... not the way you describe her. Good luck and be safe.

don't completely dismiss it just because of the age. my sis is 37 and tends to like men your age. women are not always against dating younger men, but all the baggage she has may be a hold back from her perspective. if you don't have kids of your own and haven't been married (no offense) but you may be a little immature because of inexperience not age.

Dude thats a 13 year difference, she has way more life experience then you too. She has been married! And has children! But if you really think it would work out... go for it
