Gravy, Alfredo, or Cheese sauces are all good, but if you're trying to avoid too much salt (soy sauce), or butter/fat/oil then pesto, gravy, and cheese sauces are out.
You might want to mix it with a salsa or a sweet and sour sauce. A nice veggie broth would add flavor as well (mix it with something like Mrs. Dash or Chef Paul Prudhomme's Magic Seasoning Blend).

I'm sure pesto would be really good. You can buy it in a jar or you can make your own. It's basically a bunch of fresh basil, garlic, pine nuts, parmesan cheese, salt to taste, and olive oil to thin it as much as you'd like, then whirled in a food processor or blender. I live for this sauce...it's great on pizza, pasta, sandwiches, etc. and I'm sure rice will be yummy with it too.

Gravy - yummmm.... and you can make whatever kind matches your meal...
Gravy
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
½ teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 cups warm meat broth (chicken, beef - or you can make with vegetable for veggie gravy)
Place fat in pan and add flour and seasonings until smooth. Heat until bubbly and slightly brown. Stir in the broth until sauce thickens. Continue cooking, stirring constantly for 2-3 minutes. Can be made in roasting pan if it is heavy enough to place directly over flame.

I really don't put sauce on my rice. Unless I do a stir fry and put it over rice. Sometimes I make a brats and put it over rice and smother it with ketchup and mustard.

Dump it all together, then cook over low heat stirring often. Add water or milk to dilute to desired thickness and season with something; I'd use fresh basil and a bit of salt. You can make soup out of ANYTHING.

Cheese sauce like you would make for mac & cheese.
Canned creamy soups - mushroom, broccoli & cheese, tomato.
Just add less water & milk or cream.

I sometimes cook rice in chicken stock, that gives it a light, but flavorful taste.
