Besides the fact that one is a euphemism and the other a pejorative, don't they mean exactly the same thing?

A superstition is the irrational belief that future events are influenced by specific behaviors, without having a causal relationship: ie: a broken mirror = 7 years bad luck.... faith is a belief, if not based on facts, at least reached through either reasonning or meditation.
but i take your point, there is no actual facts behind either; still, they are both fun.

Faith is simply belief.

Supersition is when you think there are certain hoops to jump through. Such as throwing salt over your shoulder for good luck. Horse shoes for good luck. 4 leaf clovers for good luck.

I'm not lucky. I'm blessed.

religion is based on a need to be enlightened

and superstition is based on paranoia and lots of paparazzi news

Faith in the Christian sense means "trust". It means to trust in Jesus. We trust in Jesus because He has proven to be who He claimed to be and that He is always faithful. Christianity is affirmed by the evidence. www.equip.org
