"Moral"/ "Ethics" / "WIsdom"

These are important to keep us from hurting ourselves. Knowledge by itself is only knowledge; and we can knowingly or unknowingly hurt ourselves by using this knowledge in haste.

For example, I can build a bomb with knowledge on the internet --- but without the "Morals"/ "Ethics" / or "Wisdom", I'm most like a little kid playing with fire.

There are many new advances in technology, medicine, and science. Are these bad? No, by themselves, they just are. When combined with people who want to manipulate the knowledge to hurt others, then we have a problem.

Studying the Bible and other religious texts should help us pull the wisdom on how to handle new technological advances --- while a "How to guide" (build a bomb, make medicine, clone) doesn't give us the insight of the concequences. Unfortunantly, some use the manipulation of both science and religious texts for their own benefits, and this is dangerious. However, true scholars of these texts can see the folly in their actions ---> and I hope these scholars will bring light onto the people.

To obey Jehovah’s direction about sexual conduct can be a challenge for imperfect humans. For example, obedience in this matter helps to protect us from sexually transmitted diseases, some of which have no cure and can kill. We are protected from out-of-wedlock pregnancies. Applying godly wisdom also contributes to a clean conscience. Doing so promotes self-respect and earns the respect of others, including our relatives, our mates, our children, and our Christian brothers and sisters. It likewise promotes in us a healthy, positive attitude toward sex that will contribute to happiness in marriage.

By our maintaining chaste conduct, we can also do much to counter misconceptions about true worship and attract people to the God we worship. Faith in God involves confidence that he knows what is best for us, even if we do not fully grasp all the reasons why he directs us in the way that he does. Although those without faith may scoff, we rejoice in our obedience to our loving Creator. We have a higher morality, a godly morality. It is something to be proud of, something to treasure. By maintaining a clean moral standing, we can delight in God’s blessing and can maintain a bright hope of endless future blessings.

As an atheist, I find that morality is very important. If I want to live in a certain kind of world, then it is up to me to do everything in my power to make it so... because no one and nothing else is going to do it for me.

Treat people how you want to be treated.
