So I'm pretty sure a guy I know is interested in me. I'm flattered as I don't get much attention and he is a great guy who I love having him as a friend but I just don't want more.

I am very inexperienced when it comes to matters of the heart so I am dreading a confrontation where he makes his feeling known because I'm already having some major guilt issues about spurning his advances.

What are some good ways to hint that I'm not interested?

Stop answering his emails, calls, etc. Just make yourself unavailable for a while. But one way is just write him a note or letter and tell him exactly how you feel and ask that he respect your wishes and views. If he's a true friend he'll respect all that if not then he's gonna be like see ya. Oh well. His loss not yours there girl.

I've had this problem many times and like you I've always dreaded telling a nice guy that I'm not interested and like you I've felt that guilt before. Just tell him that you are flattered that he likes you but you don't feel the same way and that you would not want to lose him as a friend. After that it is up to him to except that you were being up front with him and that you were being nice about it. Don't just hint about it because some times guys just don't get it.

Well here are some little things we usually do. We ususally can't look at you straight in the eyes for long. We flirt with other guys around you. We seem to ignore you sometimes. Giggles alot. That's only a few and doesn't apply to everyone but it should help.

If he's a friend.. he will understand.. Sometimes.. guys get their signals mixed up.. When a women is being friendly they assume she wants him or likes him etc.. Just be honest.. That's the best policy!

Well, one dude likes me and if he ever asks me out, I want to tell him,"I would rather try to have sex with a crazy bull with mad cow disease than date you." But that might be kinda mean.
