Physical abuse is illegal, and just because your father does it does not mean you can too, in fact you both can be charged for physical abuse. Domestic abuse!
Young people who have been exposed to physical abuse, through their parents, will do the same to their partners later in life too.
You should be protecting your mother from abuse, not being a perpetrator to it.
The fact the you have asked if hitting you mother is a crime, indicates you know it is wrong. If your ever charged for this, and jailed or detained in juvenile centre, will reduce your job prospects greatly.
Please seek help with a men's group or youth centre, so you don't find your self with a police record.

You and your dad must really be proud of yourselves...hitting a woman. Does that make you real men? I think not. Your mother needs to report your A*S*S to the police and get away from both of you. If you had the sense of a peanut you would have learned from your dad that hitting a woman is low.

I am sorry to hear you live in a dysfunctional home where you're learning to be a women beater, that's real bad.
Why don't you become the one man who breaks the cycle, become you're mom's protector instead. If you start doing that, maybe you're dad would learn to controll his behaviour. Give you're mom the respect she deserves.

No, you're not a criminal, but you should definitely try harder to control yourself. Seeing your father do the same is part of the problem, but not the sole reason. If you feel that the problem is severe, you should sit down with her and talk about what it is that she does to trigger that type of anger. If the situation persists, seek professional help. And don't worry, counseling, in no way, makes you less of a person, it makes you a stronger one.

yes, and is very dangerous. You should help your Mom not hit her. Tell her you are sorry and make an oath to her and yourself never to do it again. And if your dad can't be a good role model for you then you be one for your dad. Support your mom in an effort to get help for both you and herself. You can stop the cycle. I suggest you start now.

Parents should be treated with respect. Don't try and be proud of yourself for being such a foolish jerk. Your father is no better than you are. He shouldn't be hitting your mother either. He ought to be in jail for it.
