Hi! Hang in there - it will hurt a lot at first!

You should have been given a list of instructions for your recovery with a lists of what foods are good to eat when.

Many fruit juices are too acidic - as are sodas... but you do need to keep the back of your throat moist to prevent scabbing. So drink gatorade, Kool-Aid, water, herbal teas with honey, etc.

Soup (broth only at first) is always good. When you are ready to have more solid but soft items, noodle soup is yummy, as are all pasta dishes (again - skip the acidic tomato sauce for a while, though), especially macaroni & cheese; mashed potatoes; oatmeal is soft and sweet. Italian ices, puddings, applesauce, Jell-o.

I will stress again that keeping the throat moist by getting plenty of fluids is VERY important to minimize scabbing! My son got his tonsils out when he was about 9 (7 years ago) and I had a hard time making him drink. Then almost 2 weeks after the surgery he was back in school and he felt a scab break off. He went to the nurse, but she couldn't see any bleeding, so we had him go back to class. When I picked him up that evening, he started barfing blood - it was bleeding behind what is called the pillar in the throat, so she couldn't see it - it had been bleeding and running into his stomach all day! I had to take him to the hospital and they had to re-cauterize it. the Doctors said he had lost a lot of blood, and we had to have his blood tested the next day to make sure that he wasn't too anemic from it.

There are newer techniques that cauterization since then that supposedly are more effective and actually less painful. I have no way of knowing which technique your surgeon used, and that is why it is important to refer to the instructions that were given to you by the Doctor and the hospital/surgery center.

Fell better soon!

first of all, you want to take her to a pediatrician and they could allow you to recognize if there's a want for her tonsils to be bumped off. Then in the adventure that they do want elimination, your well being care provider provides you you with names of professionals on your area so as that more desirable assessments might want to be run to make certain if or perhaps as the technique should be performed. The operation is many times performed in a well being facility with an over nighttime stay. Having tonsillitis isn't a lack of lifestyles sentence below popular situations.. that's only very uncomfortable.
