I heard it's best to tie it back or put in a bandana to prevent breakage. Is this true?

I am always sleep with my hair up in a "Pebbles Flintstones" style bun on the top of my head to keep the volume in the sides.

Sleep on a satin pillow case. It's not good to tie hair back, it pulls it too much causing breakage. If you must pull it back do it loosely with a scrunchie.

I sleep with it braided if I want wavy hair the next day, otherwise I just toss it behind me. I have a tendency to wake up completely if I change positions at night, so I can reposition my hair, too; I don't know how well it would work for heavier sleepers, though.
