Because remembering a specific date that isn't directly related to one of their hobbies is trying to remember a detail, and guys suck at remembering or noticing details sometimes. (although some women are bad about this too.) You're not being dumb about it at all though. Valentine's day should be important, and if your man needs reminded of it's importance by sleeping on the couch tomorrow night when he doesn't get or do anything for you then so be it. Or you could go the peaceful route and let him know either directly or through subtle hints in advance that the day means alot to you. Either way.

They have not been conditioned to maintain in ideas. What probabl occurring is that in his kin, turning out to be up, birthdays were no enormous deal after about age 5. curiously on your household, the entire international stopped every time someeone's birthday rolled round, finished w/ events at any age, extravagant presents, cake, etc. To you, birthdays are a paramount adventure. To him, this is an attractive day, yet no longer worth of a replace of schedule or events. How some distance off am I?

Don't be so stereotypical it's not just a guy thing girls forget too. My ex did one year when I was still with her. Yeesh. Maybe he's just playing with you and has some thing very wonderful and romantic planned. Or he's a last minute guy and runs out tonight to get you some thing. LOL. Wonder what he'll do on Christmas Eve. congrats on being married recently.

A lot of guys don't like the holiday, but if it's important to you, he should consider your feelings. Let him know that it's important to you and why. However, understand that you "get what you pay for" when you married him 4 years ago. You can't change him at this point.

Check out the Valentine's day cards.. The male cards have lot's of references to being forgetful etc.. and grumpy etc.. the female cards are not that way. Don't want to blame it on the gender.. but there might be something about that.. He needs to be educated.. Teach him. how it's done. Maybe his father wasnt' the sensitive type.... and it rubbed off.. Good luck.. By the way, Happy Valentine's Day!!

It's just not something he sees as important. The real worry would be if he actually lies to you/hides things from you etc.
Don't worry about it, make it fun for him and maybe he will start to see it as a fun and important tradition for you guys

Yeah, I don't think it's as important to us. For me, it's like trivial information that just doesn't register in my brain, probably the same for some other guys too.

Don't worry , he is just thinking a lot and he is just trying to get used for the fact that he is married now if it means a lot to you he wouldn't try anything to ruin it.
