Let say you live in a country and that country attacked another country over a bunch of lies. Then the military of this country attacks the other country and takes prisoners and abuses them sexually and sends them to a foriegn country to be tortured and killed. Is it o.k. to just do nothing and go to church on Sunday and donate your money to a minister who turns around and spends the money on meth and gay prostitutes? When ask myself "what would Jesus do" I feel like I should do something but I don't know what.
Should one just ask for forgiveness?

I don't know what if anything I can do about it, I pray for guidance. I'm led to share in the Truth. In the Holy Spirit I seek protection for myself my family and those I love. It's going to get worse, what's happening in other parts of the world is effecting what is happening here. This worldly existence will become uncomfortable for all of us.

You ask about "Sin" and that is a concept exclusive to religion not countries. If the demands of the religion that you adhere to are that you murder and kidnap (like in the bible, the Talmud and the Koran) then you would indeed be "sinning" to abstain from otherwise morally objectionable behavior.
A noted physicist once remarked that religion is an insult to humanity. With or without it, good people do good things and evil people do evil things. But it takes religion to make good people do evil things.

We torture them over there so that we don't have to torture them over here!
We torture them away from the cameras and the public eye so as not to elicit sympathy. Heck, that why anyone who tortures does it out of the public eye in most countries. People usually don't get upset at what they don't see.
