Well in my book I would have called her DUMB. If you know you are sick and can pass it on to the child.. why do it? That is not fair to the child, now is it?

I say that Judge Judy was right, plus if the silly woman wanted another baby, she could have always adopted instead of forcing the illness on the poor defenseless baby.
Reminds me of this lady I know who had a child who had a brain tumor and she knew that if she had another baby, he would also have a brain tumor. She remarried and didn't tell her new husband about it. She convinced him to have a child with her. Then, after the tumor showed up in the sweet lovable little boy, she told her ex-husband they had split up). he got pissed that she would force something so horrible on him.

I believe it is more than mean to have children who have an illness like yours. I do believe Judge Judy was more than right.

I feel the lady made a silly mistake, but judge Judy seems to have a habit of talking to adults like they are children.

well obviously this woman knew what she was getting into, and if she is a carrier of the disease she probably knows alot about it so she would be the best caregiver for her children, some people voice their opinions to loudly we all have the right to make our own decisions considering family and children and if that was a risk this woman was willing to take for the opportunity to be a mother than the risk is hers and not judge Judy's

I have a bleeding disorder. It's a factor 8 difficiency. The chances of me carrying the passive gene for hemophelia as a result were high so i went and had genetic screening done to find out before my husband and I concieved. I'm negative and I have 2 healthy boys. :)

I think it's irresponsible to not get tested first.. but not everyone is knowledgeable about these things. If she had one baby that had the "illness" then i donno why she'd try for another LOL but hey, who are we to judge.

I think that the judge was right to put her opinion in, but she should have taken into consideration the womens feelings.
