i have this friend, a guy who i've liked for quite a long time.....i didn't think he liked me but i'm not sure now
today i was at home and i got a text from him telling me to meet me at this place were we always hang out. he gave me a card and a tiny bunch of roses....though i'm not sure if he was serious or not. it was a really funny/stupid valentines card and it said"i'll b ur vtine if you b mine..." though after i read it he gave me this grin and it was sort of like "i'm just joking" but i dunno! does he like me? was he just joking or what?
you see...lately, we've been spending a lot of time together and we've got really friendly.....but you know how to wind your best friends up, was he doing that?
oh yeah, we're both 17.

Yes, I think he likes you. He gave you a card and roses for Valentine's Day. I think the sentiment on the card was his way of feeling you out. He was sending you a message without sticking his neck out too far. Maybe he's a little nervous and unsure of your feelings for him. When I was 17 I was really insecure and in the dark about women, and I found all sorts of ways to hide that fact.
Do something just as subtle back to him and see how he responds.

I think he might have been serious with the card/roses and was laughing and joking to cover it up because he's nervous about what you will say. That's just what I think though.
It's hard to tell - if you've known him a while, he might be just doing it to be friendly since you both know each other well.

I'd say he likes you but that depends on what you mean by liking you. Girls and guys have a totally different meaning in this respect. You're with him...a lot...as you say, so you should be able to read him better than anyone on Yahoo! answers, ya know? If you can't see it or feel it, then maybe it's not there.
