I can't see it... No one is alive, they have not been born... Are these people just imposing their fairy tale belief in God on others?

You don't have to be religious to know that killing innocent human beings is wrong. If you honestly think the child in the womb is not "alive," you need to take a basic biology course. There is no debate in the medical community on when life begins. From the point of conception, we are unique, living, growing human beings:

It is an undeniable biological fact that by the time most women know they are pregnant (3 weeks after conception), their baby's heart is already beating. Virtually no surgical abortions are committed before 6-7 weeks. By that point, the baby has recordable brain waves, tiny fingers, and is moving in the womb. If her cheek is stroked, she will turn her head. By the time the average abortion is committed (at 10 weeks), the child is fully formed, with all her organs functioning. She can suck her thumb and grasp an object placed in her palm. If her palm is pricked, she will open her mouth and pull her hand away. She can feel pain:

At 7 weeks, the baby has a heartbeat. At less then 2 weeks, it is a group of cells that have divided and multiplied. All those cells know what they will be. The cells are alive. Once a heartbeat is detected, it's considered alive. There is even brain development at this stage. The have done some research and found that even at less then 3 months gestation, the fetus is able to feel pain. So, in abortions, the fetus is ripped apart. Don't you think that would be painful? Trust me, an abortion is a horrible thing to witness. I have had to preform a few in medical school, and I refuse to do them in my practice. To me, once there is division of cells and implantation, it is a living being. Once there is a heartbeat, if for sure is alive.

If you say that they aren't alive yet, have you witnesses an ultrasound, or a pregnant woman when the baby moves? It is very alive and moves without the aide of the mother. After being pregnant, and being pregnant with number 3 right now, I can tell you that even with my first ultrasound, you can see the little heartbeat, the little head and arms and legs moving. It is amazing to see!!! To say that they aren't alive at this point is scientifically wrong. Proven by many doctors over the years. If you don't beleive me, do some research and see what the recent medical journals have to say on the subject. I'm sure you will learn something.

I find it amazing that everyone who thinks abortion is ok, wasn't aborted...

In embryonic form there is-
Sex- Those parts develop in the 7th and 8th week of gestation- about the time most women are finding out they're pregnant.
Heartbeat- The heart is the first thing to start functioning, even though it isn't till about the 12th week that it can be heard.
Fingers and toes- Did you know that most fetus' suck on their thumbs before birth? Some even suck on their toes!
Distinctly individual DNA- This happens at conception, first thing!
Sensation of pain- Check out clips of partial-birth abortions.
Brainwaves- I'm not sure when these start happening, but they are pretty quick to follow the heart and sex organs.

Now, there's a thought- If having brainwaves makes an adult or child or even an infant "alive"... why wouldn't it make a fetus or embryo "alive"?....

Here, I'll make this easy, and scientific, with absolutely NO religion involved.
By the time a woman knows she's pregnant, that "clump of cells" has:
1. Brain waves
2. His or her own blood type
3. A HEARTBEAT!
4. His or her own DNA code.
5. His or her body may not be fully formed, but by the time a woman is in her fifth week of pregnancy, the baby is already forming hands, feet, and facial features. He or she has the outline of a mouth, and eyes. His or her lungs are already forming. He or she already has ears forming.

The most important thing is that this "clump of cells" has a HEARTBEAT! It is ALIVE. You can use whatever excuse you want for abortion being okay, but you CANNOT scientifically and medically conclude that an unborn child is not ALIVE.

And this is not from the Bible, or from my, as you put it so KINDLY, "fairy tale belief in God." This is SCIENCE.

It has been scientifically proven that babies are alive, have a heart beat and everything, before they are actually born. Also, people can watch while the doctor kills the baby, by using an x-ray thing, and people have seen the baby screaming inside the stomach. However, some people have no choice whether or not they have an abortion. Some times they have to or else both the parent and child will die.

I can see that people here have done a good job giving factual evidence as to why abortion is or rather should be considered murder by everyone. But if you still want to learn more, I have some websites for you which give scientific explanations and facts as to the evidence that reveals abortion for its murderous content.

Lists extensive scientific facts and research which proves abortion as murder:
http://justfacts.com/abortion.htm

Here I have compiled some websites which shows GRAPHIC and EXPLICIT video documentation of what an actual abortion looks like (after seeing this, many people understand why pro-life supports consider abortion murder based on scientific and religious principles):

If it isn't murder, why is there such a BIG debate about it? Because everyone, no matter their view on it, feels guilty about it. Sounds to me like you don't like religion but the Bible speaks of a man who accidentally harms/kills the fetus in a woman. God punishes such a man...so imagine what he thinks of us when we do it on purpose! Sex is a choice that is made by both parents & they must accept the consequences. If it wasn't a bad thing, why do we even have birth-control? Wouldn't people just have sex, probaly get pregnant, and deal with it by abortion? It wouldn't be that big a deal BUT it is. The human heart starts working 20 days after conception. And it IS a human inside. What's the difference between a baby inside RIGHT before it's deliverd and one that is JUST delivered? NOTHING. You might as well shoot the baby as soon as it comes out and consider it an abortion. The baby inside the mother is considered an organism. And an organism is a LIVING thing. I hope my point of view helps.

No, it's not murder in the least. The only reason so many pay attention to this issue is that it involves other's having sex. Otherwise, the pro-forced birth group would be spending the time they waste on this issue doing something to help the children already here.

Childbirth can easily result in the death of the adult female involved. NO ONE has the right to force her to risk her life against her will if alternatives are available, AKA abortion.

If the 'moment of creation' and its stages were that darn important to "God" and the universe, then 1/2 of them wouldn't be thrown out naturally.

If the baby is growing ....it's alive.
If the baby has a soul, spirit, and bleeds it's alive.

it has a soul... because... the souls of people are the thoughts of God.
It has a Spirit....because...When God breathes into his thoughts, it is born baby spirits, then God sends them on their way to be born and become redeemed.
Do you always kill something when you don't have proof that it's a baby. if you have to destroy it, your killing it. it's not a rat, it's not a dog, or animal, it has blood cells of it's mother and father, therefore it's a baby.
Call it what you want, take the easy way out, but in the end you will know it was a baby... and then you will feel like hell, because you have murder a baby.

Hi, I'm one of "those" people..pro-life all the way.. well, here's a little explanation (and a non-religious one, too!) on why I see abortion as the horrific bloody act of murder. The cell package (when an egg is fertilized by sperm) is like no other; it contains DNA, the blueprint for a human being. To 'snuff' that out is pretty much telling the growing fetus that he or she is worthless and inconvenient. To me, that is beyond cold; here in a woman's womb (speaking to men who are contemplating on paying their women to go forward with the annihilation) lies your seed; your son or daughter, and you have decided he or she is not worth being alive on this planet Earth. It sickens me, really, knowing that people can go forward with such actions.
