You can replace all the yes-men who are past expiry date and plant your own views eg "speaking as a foreigner - with appropriate western sounding names" supporting the dominant political party. For this you get (or so they claimed) in front of the queue for choice housing, secondhand textbooks, organs transplant recipients , elite status (always tell people you are a bargain and you earn much much more as a brain surgeon where you are from and tell them to get off your elite uncaring face). Your children gets to attend elite schools and have 'white horse' status. Your boys get fast-track promotion to Brigadier Generals and get elected on polling day. Your girls get to steer warships in busy shipping lanes or make investment plays that even Soros or Buffet hesitate. Welcome to Singapore. Truly a unique land of milk, honey and opportunities.
