Just take all the prophecies that have come true and continue to come true.
Please don't confuse the Word of God with a cult. There are plenty of cults/religions out there following false doctrines.
Islam,Catholicism , just to name 2+ billion (followers)
Jesus said 'Wide is the path to destruction ( hell) and narrow is the path to heaven that so few choose. 2 billion alone counts as a very wide path indeed.

This is a very hard and very complex question. The only answer that I can provide is some parts are true and some are false. There is much historical evidence that many of the persons mentioned in the Bible are real, meaning they existed at one point in time. Although highly debated, I think most religious scholars will agree that there is historical evidence that Jesus existed.
However, there is seems to be no evidence of that the miracles actually happened. Some may site weak evidence for the miracles though. For example, the Christian faith says that Jesus was resurrected from the dead. Many might argue that it really happened because his body disappeared and was never found. Many historians will argue that grave robbers took his body or even his followers hid it, so that the word of Jesus would be true.
The question you are asking has been debated for years. You might want to do some nice reading a Wikipedia. I posted the link below. This article is all about the Bible and history.

First off, a previous person said, "You also don't need a book written nearly 2000 years ago to tell you the difference between right and wrong." So basically since they're an atheist they are their own god. How do they know what is right and wrong, or if there even IS a right and wrong? How do you determine what is right and wrong?
Second, someone else spoke of the history of the Bible and quoted a WIKIPEDIA PAGE??? Give me a break! Anybody could edit a Wikipedia page!
I won't add any more to the question answer thing than that, just to point out the idiotic "logic" of some people.

Yes, the Bible is true. So is God. Look up Christian apologetics. There are some scientific facts that were known before science knew them.http://www.inplainsite.org/html/scientif...
Archeology proves it http://lionofjudah.tribulationforces.com...
prophecy proves it:http://www.reasons.org/resources/apologe...

that 30% of doubt is your rational self letting you know that it is all made up stories by people who had no idea of what was going on in the world around them.
They made these stories up in order to make them feel better about things they could not control. So they endowed nature with a pesonality and called it God. If they pleased God, then somehow, they felt that they could control things like drought, hurricaines disease and famine. So here we are 2000 years later, and people still believe these stories.
Has God ever spoken to you? Has he ever manifested himself to you in a manner that you could detect with your 5 senses? If so, how do you know that this manifestation was the creator of all things? If you are honest with yourself, then you already have your answer regarding belief... You have nothing at all to honestly say that you can believe in God.

You don't need to believe in the bible to believe in god. You also don't need a book written nearly 2000 years ago to tell you the difference between right and wrong. I don't believe in God, but if you do that's great for you, but remember no one has a monopoly on God's love. No one can tell you what your morals are, you wont really believe what other people tell you to believe anyway.

I admire you for wanting to know the truth. Yes, the Bible is true. It is the will of God delivered to man by the Holy Spirit. When you walk outside and notice the sky and the whole creation and that it is always working timely every day everything revolving on its axis in complete harmony, you know that there is a designer behind all of that. God is very real and the reason we do not see Him is because He wants us to have faith in Him to do as He commands us until He returns. His promises to us are true and He will keep them. Study your Bible every day son. Become a Christian by doing what is taught in Acts the 2nd chapter. God will add you to His church and you will be on your way to heaven. Do not believe me because I said it, but search the scriptures to see if what I am telling you is true. Hear and believe the word, repent of your sins, confess Jesus as Lord, and be baptized for the remission of sins. It's all there, not all in the same place but if you read Acts chapter 2, that is when the Lord's church was established. Hope this helps you.

you do not believe in God 70%. You are trying to hedge your bet by being an Agnostic. An Agnostic is a wussy who don't believe in anything. A fence straddler with a Pit Bull on each side of the fence. Until you believe in something we have you treed.

The Bible might seem big, old, and contradictory. However, if u truly investigate it, it's full of common sense, accurate history, good sound principles, amazing stories, and reliable prophecies. What other book can make a claim like that. Here's something else. The more u get to know it, the more it makes sense.

The only part of the bible that is true are the parts that were copied from the Egyptian and Sumerian text. The bible was not the first 'book' or writing on the planet nor was it written in the first language. It's all plagiarized.
