Telling her friend is the cowards way out....It is better you stand up for what you did and tell her this in person if you feel shes not a violent person.....Otherwise a phone apology might work...At least by phone the worst that could happen would be she would hang up on you...Best of luck.......

Definitely do it in person. And don't just say you're sorry. Follow this basic formula:
First start with "Sandra, I have to apologize."
Then continue with a dimunitive remark about yourself. "I'm such a jerk."
Then continue with why. "I was so thoughtless for saying that and hurting your feelings."
Then express a hope. "I wish I had never said it." or "I hope you won't let this get in the way of our friendship."
Finish with "Please say you'll forgive me."
This basic formula to apologize for a woman has been proven 100% successful!

Telling a friend to do it for you shows her that you are a coward and can't stand up for yourself or face your fears. And explain the situation very clearly to her. There's no guarantee that she would see it the way you do, but if you never try you'd never know.

you say it like it is and by all means do it in person. Good luck! Asking a friend to do it would be cowardly.

Buy her a present to make up for it. Just saying sorry is not good enough.
