I need to buy a buy a SLR camera for photography class. I am a beginner, and i don't need anything fancy. In fact, i need manual focus, manual aperture, and manual shutter speed. Used cameras are great, but i don't trust some of the sites. I need it to work, minor scratches and normal wear and tear is fine. Most important thing: price under $100 .

If you know of a trustworth site or store where you think i could buy this camera, please tell me. If you can recommend a specific camera for me, that would be great.
thanks

Reliable rating system, generous return policy. I have bought from them several times. If anything, they underrate the equipment.
Another thing, you can use most auto-focus bodies in manual focus mode.

Good luck!

The classic student film camera is the Pentax K1000. I checked a couple of dealers without any luck, but I see 131 cameras with lenses on eBay. Check these out and read the feedback scores and some of the comments from buyers for each seller. There ARE plenty of honest sellers on eBay.

If you are taking a class, though, it is a good idea to check with the instructor (if possible) to see if he/she recommends any specific camera. It's "all the same," but if it's EXACTLY the same, it will be abit easier for you to learn.
