It's not wrong. I think Christians should ask themselves that question daily.

It was very wrong and bad timing. This was meant to be a serious moment out of respect for the religious people in your family and you basically spit on them and their beliefs at that time. I have joked around about that part of that movie, too, and have to admit is pretty funny and yes a bit blasphemous, but there is a time and a place. This was not the time. You should have had more respect for those around you at that particular time. The fact that you did that wasnt that bad, you were joking, but now you cant even realize how rude that was. This demonstrates to her that you dont care about her feelings or respect her beliefs and she has a right to be upset over the fact that you just cant understand that what you did was offfensive to her. I think you should apologize and understand that you were in the wrong here and she should accept your apology and move on. edit Yes it was a joke, but it was an offensive joke to her. It is far more hurtful for her to now know that you have that little regard for her feelings. edit I feel really really sorry for some of you people and the people that are unfortunate to have to associate with you if you cant even understand the concept of basic human respect twds not just any people, but your own family members. Do some of you have feelings? When you hurt the feelings of another person with what anyone would consider a mocking type joke then you are in the wrong, even if the person is being sensitive. The joke was meant to mock. If the person you are mocking doesnt think it is funny then it isnt a joke anymore. It is just hurtful. Stop trying to make yourselves feel better by saying that the other person is over reacting and accept the responsibility that your poor timing and inappropriate joke caused someone you should love pain. Isnt the fact that you hurt her feelings enough for you to feel bad about what you said? Geesh. You said it mocking her beliefs. She did not do anything to you. Why is this her bad and not your bad? Even if you dont think what you said was that big of a deal, to her it was and you said it knowing that it was meant to mock something she considers sacred. Take responsibility for that and apologize.

I think that question is actually one that all Christians should live by to guide themselves through Life. If Christ is the blueprint, why try to go about it any other way? Did not he say He is the way the truth and the life? And they only way at that? What would Jesus do is a very deep statement that no bracelet or signet can convey.

I am a Christian and it's not wrong. If your kid stole a ball and you asked them what would Jesus do, it's not a sin. Why do those Christians think that, I mean the Bible says to control your anger. You should ask them when they are getting angry, what would Jesus do? The Bible says to control your anger. Maybe their not really Christians.

Are you sure you're talking to a true Christian?
Anyone can say they're a Christian.
I like to use the same guidelines when faced with decisions.
What better gauge could you use to make decisions in life?
By the same token - I don't focus on others sins as much as my own.
I like to say that I am the worst sinner I know. Why? Because, then I know I'm focusing on my own and not someone else's wrong doings.

its not wrong to ask what he would do, the simple answer is He would choose not to sin.
but to SAY a person knows What jesus would do when faced with a question of two evil circumstances Cannot always be justified.
killing people is NOT what jesus would do, unless it were a righteous Jihad, against a super power who truly is SATAN. than going to war and killing people might be justified.
But Jesus commanded his disciples to be wise as serpents and harmless! Harm no one. He has called his followers to follow peace.
he also taught that offences will come, but woe unto them that offend. and it is also written that ALL things that offend will be destroyed.

Conservatives tend to not be able to put themselves in other people's situations. For instance, if you wore sandles to a fundamentalist church on Sunday, they would probably frown upon that. Eventhough JC most likely wore sandles.

Nothing, what you have done however is confront them with the inconsistency in their belief and actions. Not a comfortable spot you have put them in. Hence, the anger.
