I had a '67 Mustang up until recently. I have all of manuals for it in storage. The one I can say, is I don't remember anywhere in them where it mentioned anything about a star at the beginning of the VIN. Where did you find the original color for the car? Did that come of the tag on door or somewhere else? It's been a long time since that car was new. You have no idea what could have been changed on that car.Be prepared to do some research. Try your local library, the Internet is a good source. I even got some useful information from the Ford dealership. Good luck.

RE:
Where to find VIN on 1967 Mustang?
I have a 67 Mustang and I'm not sure where to find the VIN number. I have tried checking inside the driver side door jamb, there is a plate with numbers but it is not the VIN number. My husband said it is under the hood (long story but he can't get to the car) but I do not see it. There...

The absolutely free reverse vin check sites generally provide fake information. To get real information, money will have to be paid. The free searches provide fake information so they can get your email address to send spam.
Stay away from shady reverse vin check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse vin check site like http://www.reversevincheck.net that has been around since 1995.

*I have no clue what the star means, most likely a type set. *The windshield wiper pedal actuated the sprayer to clean the windshield. There should be a red bag behind the left headlight. *The door may well have been changed, look at the 5th digit, I doubt the door has a "C", it's no big deal. *Make sure those wires aren't horn or turn signal hood wires. If your 5th digit is a "C" (originally 289 2 barrel car), I can almost guarantee they aren't factory fog light wires. *Check the pan, if it isn't HUGE it is NOT a C-6. Finding a C-6 cross member for a 67 is near impossible.

On a 67 mustang its under the hood , on the drivers side , on the inner fender . Its on top of the inner fender where it fender bolts ups . There is a notch in the fender along the bolt lines. It will have black paint on top of it. It is not a tag but stamped into the sheet metal . The inner fender on a 67 mustang is not removable (unibody construction )
