I have never questioned the symbol before. But recently I was told it was. But regardless of the truth on the symbol I find it to be of good quality whether it be pocket knives, watches, traveling suit cases, etc.

The cross is the same as on the flag of Switzerland. That Cross is indeed the Cross of Jesus Christ. So....the answer, in a round-about way is: "Yes."

The Swiss cross as existing in the national flag/crest/emblem goes back to the 13th century AD and even before. Actually it was used first by today's Swiss Canton (i.e. state) of Schwytz.

This symbol does go back to the Christian cross, yes. But today nobody would consider the Swiss cross a religious symbol - there has never been a discussion about this really.

Switzerland(where Swiss people come from) has a white cross on a red flag. Hence, Swiss army knives have that flag symbol on their products. So does the Red Cross. The origins of both do have Christian connections definitely. But nowadays, it is just a symbol/icon.

They are excellent knives. It is a relgious symbol, but used indirectly. It's used in the sense of being a SWISS symbol, their flag. But the Swiss symbol of course has religious significance.

It's more of a historical symbol. When the west was developing it was very Christian, so most good things were represented with a cross. Just like in the mid-east charities and the like are usualy represented with a cresent, because of their muslim here history. While these were originally because of religion, their mainly just traditional these days.
