is it illegal for a manager or police officer to turn off lights to my house . they turned off my lights last night and the police were banging on our door and kicking it for us to answer . there was a domestic nusence issue is the reson they got called . now we are evicted with a 60 day notice . i wanna know why they thought they could turn off the power and then come in with a key from the lanlord . they turn off our lights , hurased us and now we have an eviction. is this illegal

If you refuse to open the door or respond to a police request, and they have reason to suspect a crime (such as a domestic disturbance) is in progress, then yes, they have the right to cut electricity and force entry into your house.
You should have answered the door the first time they asked.

Yes. You are obligated by law to answer the door when the police knock if they think a crime is being committed. For all they knew one of you could have killed the other and stuffed the body in the freezer.
