Typically in the United States all drivers will be involved in some sort of accident during there driving lifetime. To what degree, extent or type varies wildly as one could imagine.

If you would like a trivial fact, numbers compiled by the Insurance Industry here in the US show that statistically 60% of all 1st year drivers regardless of age will be involved in an accident within there 1st year of driving, 80% of unmarried males under the age of 18 will be involved in a accident within there 1st year of driving, 35% of unmarried females under 18 will be involved in an accident within there 1st year of driving (large gap between male and female I know, but those are the numbers from accident reports nationwide). With regards to severity and type of accident I don't have figures on those, but there are allot of web sites out there that have this information. If your really into all this actuary information check them out. Anyway, Because of this data, is one reason insurance rates can be so high for what's called an inexperience operator. Often Insurance companies will charge a surcharge for such a driver.

Take care and have fun!

Pretty much everyone will be involved in or witness an accident. (Not including people who live in places where cars are not the popular means of transportation e.g. some parts of Africa, super small towns, or the Amish country)
