PITTBULLS

2007-02-13 10:35:59 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

Really, it depends on where you live, what allergies you and family around you have and how much space you have. If you live in an apartment and you a Border collie, ask a landlord first. If you live in a condo, you probably don't want a little yappy yorkie to bug the neighbors. From my resreach and knowledge, I know the Beagles and Labrador Retreivers are the most populated dogs in the US. Beagles do howl sometimes, but most dogs do. BUt if you want a strong healthy dog, long living dog, go to the pound to pick a mutt. Som studies say that Mix breeds are healthier than other breeds.

Labrador Retrievers are the greatest dogs. I have owned tons of different breeds of dogs and I loved each dog I never fell in love with a breed until I got Labs. They are the smartest, most versatile. loving, affectionate, devoted, sweetest and easy to trrain dog. There is nothing you can not train them to do, and they get along with everyone and thing. Both my Labs know over 85 commands and words and can do service work. They are the greatest,

English Mastiff, the gentle giant, the most loyal, mild tempered dogs out there. I've got a 3 year old male and after seeing him around others, including kids, I won't buy any dog other than another Mastiff.

I personally like German Shepperd's but I honestly think the best dogs to have are those that need a home.
In other-words if you're thinking about buying a dog, check with your local SPCA first. You'll be surprised on how friendly dogs there can be.

Good luck

Black Labs - speaking from having one and my brothers have had many of different breeds of dogs. I have never had a smarter one than my current dog - Max a black lab. They say the Border Collies are the smartest, but I would say that just like people, one dog can be smarter than another.

Whatever works for you is really the answer. But the answer is NOT PIT BULLS.

Well, if you're the kind of person that likes big and protective dogs, you should get a German Shepherd. They're police dogs! Good luck making decisions!

if you are looking for loyal family dogs a yellow labrador or golden retriever or cocker spanielmakes a good pet.
-yellow labs should only be around older kids because they are usually pretty hyper and love to play.
-golden retrievers are great for all ages, very soft and cuddly, but most of them are also playful, just be careful they can get hip problems and sometimes have sensitive stomachs.
-if you want a smaller dog cocker spaniels are kind of like a golden retriever without as many health problems, they do tend to get ear infections but are very cute!

Cow dogs are my fave...like...border collies, heelers, australian shepherds. I have a cross of all three of those and he is the best. But if you don't live in the country they are hard to own. Other than that I would say to go to a pound or animal shelter and adopt one. Mixed breed dogs are awesome. ;)

The best dogs to have are the ones who are greatly loved and respected. But if you were referring to breed, I would say a German shepherd or a Beagle.
