One of my close friends had sex today and she is worried about the condom breaking, i suggested the morning after pill but i do not know enough about it to tell her. i was wondering if some one could tell me how bad the effects are, and how long they last. and is there any risk. i'd really like to help her. thank you

Morning-after pill does not equal murder. Why does in not? Because you are not killing life! In fact your not killing anything, you are merely destroying cells that have the potential for life. And if you consider that murder, destroying potentiality for life, than you've got a lot more things to worry about this issue. You better not be having sex at all then.

I've had to take the morning after pill twice, a couple of years apart. The first time I got pretty queasy, and the second time was absolutely fine. They even gave me an anti-nausea pill to take (the 2nd time) but I didn't even need it. It's just like taking a heavy duty birth control pill - if your friend gets nauseous when she takes the pill normally, or if she has a sensitive stomach, then she'll probably feel the same or a little bit worse from this.

I haven't heard of any risks - although of course you wouldn't want to use them regularly.

It's better than being pregnant though, if she doesn't want to be! Better not to take any chances.
