No. As stupid as he seems at times, he does know that a draft is not a good thing. One of the things that has contributed to the success of the United States armed forces is that we are an all-volunteer military. Time has tested the effectiveness of this concept, and even as far back as the ancient Greek civilization, those who had volunteer soldiers rather than coereced ones come out the victors. If Bush wanted to screw up things in Iraq even more, sending over a bunch of people who hate the military and don't want to be there would do the trick. Things would be far worse than they are now if that was the case. Those who do not want to fight should not, they should let the ones who are strong enough and willing enough step up, because they will actually do a good job. Bush knows that keeping our military draft-free is in his best interests and the best interests of our servicemen and servicewomen.

NO, the main reason is they will never start a draft unless the world was in a war, not just us kicking peoples asses.

It's too late into his term to start the draft. Besides, he already said that this was going to be an all volunteer war. If we really needed it though, I would support him in doing so.

Although it is headed in that direction, I don't think it will happen, unless he decides to invade ( YES, INVADE ) Iran and N. Korea. We are too thin already, so let's think about letting the Iraqi finish their own civil war and we can defend our homes. They have a democratically elected government, a viable army and police force, and they don't need us to help them shoot each other...waddaya think?
