I have this oven which switches off when desired temp is reached . i need to bake the cake for an hour . How do i set it for that. Thanks for help with first time baking!!

all ovens shut off when they reach desired temp then they come back on when it cools down a little you should preheat for 10-15 min then bake for the time in the recipe. if you don't have a timer on your oven set a different timer or write down the time you want to remove the cake and check to see if it is done about 5 min before that time.

The oven is suppose to switch off. The heat is doing the baking the oven maintains the desired temperature. Preheat the oven to the desired temperature and set a timer if you have a predetermined time.

It sounds like there is either a problem with the oven (a faulty wire or something) or that a button that you don't know about has been pressed. Call the customer service number for the oven and ask their advice.

There should be a timer on your oven. If not, you can set an alarm clock or get an egg timer.
