I think "thambi" means brother right...I don't speak tamil. But I think you better look up the meaning of the name before you name your baby.

I always loved Raj for a boy!
hubby likes Selvan

Even the variations:
Rajan
Rajiv
and Raja Raja (King of Kings literally in Tamil)

For a girl:

We're having the same name dilema!! I'll give you some of my favorite names...

Maya Devi (not Tamil, but means Beautiful Godess)
Rani (Queen and my hubby's favorite name)
you could go with the traditional Abirami

Lolz im sri lankan n im muslim i go with muslim names... Hmmm.. i think a good name would be Raja But dosnt thambi Brother... im not sure maybe ur decion

Sounds nice.
Do whatever you think is best. Don't listen to all the criticism on here. If you like it, and it's something the child wont be teased about when he/she gets older, go for it!
