I have naturally dark brown hair. And I know to make dark hair lighter you should bleach it. I can't do that. I just want a wash out result.

You're not going to be able to find a blonde hair color for dark hair that's going to wash out. You can make blonde hair darker with wash out color, but not dark hair lighter. Maybe you should try some highlights, they're more subtle and would be easier to cover up if you don't like them.

Yeah, you can't get a wash in or out product to lighten hair, you should get a lightening kit that does it gently like schwartzkoff(sp?) nordic dark blonde or visit the hairdressers for best advice for gentler ways to do it.

Although brush lemon juice in your hair and sit in the sun for an hour, that might work, but streaky!

I hate to tell you, but the only way to make your hair lighter is to use a lightening agent of some kind... AND... there is nothing temporary about lightening your hair. My professional opinion would be to have a few dimensional highlights put in around your face. It will give your hair a lighter appearance with minimal damage and maintenance and when you get sick of them you can tone them down. Cheers!
