Your human feelings tell you to react with certain emotions. Love, hate, anger. The Holy Spirit goes against those human emotions. Telling you to forgive not get revenge. To turn the other cheek, not hit back. Telling you to give, when you want to take.
You may get many answers, but I believe that the Holy Spirit is that voice you hear when you are praying or quiet alone with God. That is the voice, that still small voice telling you that someone needs prayer or a card or a call of encouragement. The voice that wakes you up in the middle of the night with the thought of someone you need to pray for. It's that voice that tells you, you are going the wrong way, turn around. It's the voice that makes you remember a scripture verse, at just the right time. It's the voice that tells you, stop talking and just listen.

Just by being alive, you are feeling the holy spirit. Here is a metaphor so you can understand it. The Holy Spirit is something like PG&E for the entire human race. Each person that is born has a cord that is connected to the electricity. That is why we are alive. Even today, scientists cannot explain the spark of life. They know that the sperm and the egg get together, but how they form life is unknown to them. To us Christians, we know the answer. God 'blew' into the mouth or nose of Adam and he came to be alive. Once that cord is taken out of the socket, we die. It's like a T.V. set that is full of life, color, sound, images, but without electricity what is it? An empty shell, a useless piece of metal. God gives life through his power, the Holy Spirit.

Feelings and Thoughts come from many Sources.
The Holy Spirit can affect your Feelings from Outside in, or Inside Out.
The Holy Spirit affects your Spiritman (HE is in there with You after you get Saved), then that can affect your Soul then Body. (Inside out).
HE can give you some Extreme Feelings too.

the Holy Spirit fills you with emotion so strong you laugh, cry, and or get angry at times- His spirit is truth and wisdom-- and human belonging just makes you feel OK- secure- happy- it is not as overwhelming- most churches are just that, human belonging places to feel good about ones self. truly read your Bible and allow Him to guide you and feel His spirit fill your life with amazing things, and knowledge!

The holy spirit is only felt in the church never outside of it. If the holy spirit was with them all the time they would be fainting and foaming at the mouth all over the place. Hypocrites!

You can not feel the presents of the Holy Ghost without having Jesus Abide in you first. Do you follow all of the commandments of Jesus Christ, all 75 of them?
Do you understand the truth about Mount Sinai and of the ten commandments.
If you do not then you will not know the difference.
