Miki it sounds more like a name for a blue bird. By the way you can tell if it is a male or female by the cere (the area above the beak with the holes in it) if it is brown it is a female and if it is blue it is a male. If you have a younger parakeet you may not be able to tell because it will be a whitish blueish color.

I have a Meyer's parrot named Chi Chi-- Chi for short. It's a great name and your parakeet could probably learn how to say it because it's very simple.
