Would an artificial womb really make a difference to the possibility that God would still infuse a soul?

Maybe it would make no difference.

See my earlier questions. I am talking about cloning.

What does the womb have to do with the child. We can take an egg and introduce the sperm to it on a table. Will we eventually be able to keep the egg to term with out the physical womb? maybe. But we cannot produce an egg or the sperm in our labs so in effect where ever they are joined they are part of two people and so will undoubtedly have a soul. That seems perfectly logical to me

I think with my head, with the Bible as a guide, as the standard. But where is this question coming from? You ask it as if it has been a topic of discussion before, and someone is insisting that it would make a difference.

I mean, to me, life is life. An egg and a sperm come together, and that starts a human life. The womb, artificial or natural, does not determine the sanctity of the life therein, nor the "infusion of a soul" as you put it. I believe that takes place as the sperm enters the egg, at conception.

Now, a really REALLY interesting question to me is whether an artificial intelligence can have a soul......

The human material brain installed in a human body creates but one thing, a human robot or zombie.

It takes the conscious soul to break the strict bonds of cause and effect in a material brain to allow a human robot to be self aware and alive.

What is the difference between a womb and a womb? Is a created womb artificial?

Great questions. When God does, when does God infuse a soul?

Well, if a mother dies while pregnant or something, the fetus can probably live in an artificial womb, and I don't really see anything wrong with that. I think God would let the child develope relatively normally, and the child would be just like any other child once he is "born." I think it's ok, because saving a life really isn't "playing God" or anything, in my opinion. After all, "test tube" babies are just like normal people.

I believe in God (Deist). I cannot see how an artificial womb would prevent God from putting a soul in a baby.

The problem exists that, by created humans outside natural means given by God, mankind begins to exalt itself to God status, since it can brag about creating life.
But how do you recreate the spirit and the soul, infusing those with the body? How does science provide conscience and sub-conscience? How does the ego, id, and super-id come forth in growth of cloning?
Can mankind accomplish what God did by creating man COMPLETELY?

If you don't follow the Bible, then how can you know what God thinks? Ever assume something about another person and been wrong?

In response to your question, I don't see what the womb has to do with the soul. What made you think that it mattered?

God controls the fruits of a woman's womb. Man merely tries to 'play' God. Artificial womb, indeed.

A soul is infused when life is in place. It would make no difference. It may make a big difference to the woman that cannot conceive a child. This is my views and I am a Christian.

Remember this fact (no theory)..., if people make up their own ideas of what God should be for them and discard the single source - such acts divide rather than bringing unity.

Disharmony breeds descent. Uniity brings harmony. No wonder the world is screwed up and getting worse.
