This is an answer from a question a few minutes ago:
"Evolution is a lie From the Devil to get you away from the true teachings of the Lord and Creation."
And somehow America has slipped down the educational heirarchy of the world to something like 47th. Gee, I wonder why...

caroline: What it matters to me is how this 'opinion' is finding its way into the public domain. I do not want my kid taught creation stories as if they are somehow true. And I do want my kid taught everything that has been proven true, no matter whose ideals it counters.
So while I do understand your point, I could not disagree more.

I took a college course in biological anthropology, and though the fossil record is currently incomplete, there's enough of it there to show that "we" originated in Africa and eventually migrated all over the world. Man did not evolve from apes, but both groups evolved from a COMMON ANCESTOR. Studying the skulls and bones and noting differences and stuff in the lab portion of the class was hard, but eye-opening.
It was funny to see the really religious types (heavily Mormon area) argue with the professor without having much ground to stand on (is that a pun?). Made for some entertaining classes. We also learned that, typically, the less educated a population is, the more likely they are to be religious. Anyone ever heard of the Bible Belt? :)

Evolution, seems bound to the Bible in the sense of the "Nebular Theory." (Motion imparted (By God) into matter, coming together, producing light & heat. Then gases condensed, sparking rings like Saturn, condensing into a world evolving around the Sun. ) After that it goes awry, saying that Ape soon evolved to man, blah, blah. Most of this is (Ape Theory) based off esteemed men, who had knowledge of the Bible, or read it first hand. (And we know Darwin's Theory was based off his anger to God.) So I think the motives of these men could come into question.

I am a true believer in the Bible. This response is the same as what I think.
In my opinion schools are teaching a false theory to my children and I have taught my children the truth.
If the Bible is false as many believe who is the worse for the wear?
If the Bible is true were will those others be at the second coming?
God Bless

Terrifying.
I remember an old Onion article about protests agains the Third Law of Thermodynamics. Big picture of someone holding a sign, "I don't accept the basic tenets of science - and I VOTE!"
It's good to be a heathen.

Evolution as with everything else here on earth, has been infected by satan. The Truth that was given by Jesus Christ to his disciples has just about been eradicated. Look around you and tell me this is not true? Where among you is a disciple of Jesus?

dont get offended, but here is my honest answer.
i dont think its scary. what i think is scary is people like you who want to force your opinion down other peoples throats. if people want to believe in religion, whats it to you? seriously, ask yourself why are you pursuing this? are you darwin's little soldier? who cares if people dont believe in evolution? what does it even matter? did you ever think they might be right? honestly i think the real problem is when people are black and white and dont even open their mind to the idea anything is possible. i mean, are you telling everyone that you know the meaning of life? were you there during mans supposed evolution? who are you anyway but someone who read something from a book and accepted. same coin, different side.
ADD-ON:
your children will be taught a lot of things. i just dont see why people focus so much on this. there are a lot worse things people learn in school imho.
dont you agree your children are wise enough to find their true path in spite of any bad information that might face? theyll be subjected to a lot worse informations. the world is filled with false information and no one can escape it. religious people are not your enemy. why fight with someone who is trying to be good and has good intentions? seem futile to me.
despite whatever my children may believe i would hope its a true and good path for them.
take care.

I am an expert on that kind of rhetoric.
(I should be, I have lived here in the Zoo for now on 60 years, and I know a Parrot when I hear one.)

And keep in mind that people who think that way want to make laws for the rest of us.

This terrifies me. Next thing you know we'll be burning witches.
The only criteria will be, "Does she float?"
"Well, we did the nose, and the hat..."
