I am 15 years old, i have been studying ma for about 10 of those years including, boxing, kickboxing, kungfu, and now judo\jujutsu.
I teach a small class in front of my school, and i have a tkd friend whom wants to spar with me, i dont want a fight.

BUt at the same time i do, because i want to show off a little, and if you were still ateen you would want the same. but my question is what should i do in order to use my ma skill without drawing to much attention, or hurting the other guy.

LIsten before you answer.
I said SPAR, i did not say fight.
if a basketball player and his freind play basketball in front of the school no one cares.
So if my martial art friend and i spar to exchange a little technique whats wrong with that, absolutely NOTHING
and for you info i have a black sash in kung fu i have studied it deeply. I did the others as building blocks to my kung fu.
Now iam fully devoted to judo.

if you want to, do it. never mind the spiritual connections to the true martial way or any other sh!t people around here believe in. if you want to, do it. he challenged you, so either take him up on it, or dont. showing off is fancy, fighting is fighting. chose what you want.

if you spar, you are only playing, and you will never know if you can beat him. though if you make it full contact, first one on his @ss, then you will have a better chance at comparing your training to his.

people throughout history have been challenged, and many of them would sh!t over the "true" (lol) martial artist of today. such as Miyamoto Musashi. he had bushido down to a fine art, and no one gives him sh!t for killing those other guys. pull your heads in you net warrior "my sifu said you shouldnt..." fools.

you make your own rules for life, or you live in anothers shadow.

so get in there man, and express yourself. and as Hood_12 said, rush him. you see, fighting isnt a chess game of yuor turn, my turn, your turn, my turn... and they teach you this sh!t everytime you train. outside in the real world you should rush on in and keep the fireworks going till you overwhelm their defense and drop them. I endorse training, but shake my head at the belief fighting is turn based like a board game.

Just because you know MMA and he knows TKD doesn't mean you'll necessarily hurt him. Open your eyes and learn something that he might know that you don't that you can add to your MMA. There is no one better style over the other but I am a true believer that all styles (MMA) is the most open and efficient. BUT, TKD is no joke and I've seen plenty of cocky guys get taken to the cleaners because they rely too much on "their style" and don't pay attention to what the other style has to offer. If your worried about drawing attention then go around back or the gym or somewhere else than the front of school. Thats one of the biggest stages there is and the whole point of doing anything in front of school is to show off.

If you are teaching a class in front of your school, I'm assuming on the lawn, you are already showing off. Not all teens want to show off. I started martial arts when I was in the 10th grade. I did not want to, at any point, show off my skills. Who knows, maybe you might be the one getting hurt.

Remeber one thing. Just because you supposedly started taking martial arts when you were 5, it doesn't mean that you are any good. There is always some one out there better than you and your friend might be the one.

The fight will be up to you, for your own reasons... you don't need to justify them to people online you will never meet. If you do take the fight, stomp his TKD *** into the ground. Then maybe he will want to train what you do... The only thing you have to know when fighting this TKD guy is RUSH RUSH RUSH!!! he can't punch... and will be off balance in 90% of his kicks... so just catch a leg and throw him to the ground.... then mount and pound away till he cry's/quits

nothing wrong with a friendly spar but if it's gonna be a full fledged fight dont do it. wear a little sparring gear and make it like any other sparring match

i have been in karate for years and i found when i was still in school just the fact that people knew i was in karate was imtimdating for them at times, but when i wanted to show off i either did a KATA in class for a demonstration (like in drama we had to show one skill we had a few people sang...i did karate.) also showing people some throws and armbars was pretty easy to do too without hurting anyone just give them a hint of what you are able to do and they will make up the rest in their heads trust me

Ha you are a fool if you must fight to show off. I study Shaolin Kung Fu and can tell you if your Sifu taught you otherwise you were taught incorrectly. As a Shaolin Kung Fu member I am suprised.

If you have been bouncing between disciplines like that, you have no reason to show off because you don't have much depth.
