How do you find out what jail someone is in without paying?

How can you find someone that has recently been indicted for drugs and probably went to jail after his recent court date a few months back (In texas)?

The court docket is probably available at the courthouse, maybe even online, as a public record. You can look it up. It may not tell you where he is, since once he gets into the prison system, he can be transferred anywhere. If you have a reason to know, his probation/parole officer may tell you.
