How people throng for prayer meetings and conventions looking for miracles. The organizers cheat people by creating situations to make them believe that miracles are taking place. They sing, dance ,give witness etc. Some of these are prearranged.what happens there is nothing but faith healing. If one has faith in oneself he can cure himself because our body has the system to cure itself.what is required is faith in onself.
I just wonder how long this exploitation of the gullible will go on...

I'm not sure I can totally relate to what you're saying/suggesting, but the notion of prayer as a "safety valve" got my attention...

From what I've experienced from the more fervent, "charismatic" believers, prayer - specifically "prayer meetings" - seem to hold a particular attraction for them. It would seem to me more of a "social" thing; they need the company and affirmation of their peers.

Everyone on this green and blue earth needs some kind of "sugar fix," whether they are honest enough to admit it or not.

Fervent believers need to participate in their own unique "reindeer games" on a regular basis, in the same way as football fans, NASCAR fans, Elks, Masons, duck hunters, etc., etc.

To have faith in one's self is pure folly and foolishness. More souls will be cast into the lake of fire for serving and worshipping self than for any one other thing. We are flawed individuals, thus the need for God in our lives. Prayer is the vehicle with which we maintain a personal relationship with Jesus and with God the Father. Faith healing comes from the power of the Holy Spirit, not from men. You are the gullible one, believing the lies that Satan has put into your head. Repent and be born again that you may have life, or repent not and suffer the second death.

Much of the so-called "faith healings" aren't healing, and aren't
faith either. Faith might be a thing of believing what cannot be
seen, but it absolutely doesn't mean believing any thing without
"infallible proofs(new testament, acts 1:1).
I have to accept the reality of my life, and wish i didn't have to say
this, but most praying amounts to asking for heaven on earth.
An atheist could tell you that.
Assuming that God exists, he is not a servant, nor a subject, but
a king. He has no duties. Helping sick people is the duty of man, not God. Good samaritan, any one?
Prayer should rather be to say thank you.
Assuming that God exists, he does what he wishes, and it wouldn't matter what i asked or if i did.
I want to believe in miracles, but i need proof.

How misinformed you are. The world today does not "throng" to prayer meetings, in fact most of the world seems to forget to pray.

When we pray we are not supposed to be presenting a wish list to our Father in heaven. We are instead opening a line of communication from us to our Father and from Him to us.

We do not move God. God moves us. When we pray we are asking our Father to get involved in our life and/or the lives of those we are interceding for. We are seeking God's will, God's way as well as His grace and mercy in our life.

It is when we do not pray that we are hiding from God, His truth and His help in our everyday life.

It is when we renew our minds with the word of God that is in the Holy Bible that we are able to start thinking correctly about the world. We are able to learn how God sees the world and us as well. When we apply the wisdom from the Holy Bible to our daily life we are no longer as gullible to the lies and deceptions that the world would have us to believe as true.

It is when we fail to renew our mind and learn what the truth claims of God really are on our own that we are susceptible to the lies and manipulations of others. This is because we are unclear about what we really believe and are relying on others to tell us.

and it is obvious by your atheistic nature, you have never seen or experienced supernatural phenomenon.
Since you already have created bias in your answer, there is no use even explaining the possibility of the supernatural and God's ways.
Since you do not seek, you shall not find.

I am sorry to hear that your god does not hear nor answer your prayers but I refuse to feel guilty because my God hears and answers my prayers.
if I were you, I'd find a different god.
as for my God, he's doing just fine, thanks!!
