Anything with Tea-Tree oil. Paul Mitchell makes a really good tea-tree shampoo. It's good to use every so often to clean out whatever gunk that builds up, but don't use it everyday because you'll start eliminating the natural oil your hair produces.

Washing your hair everyday with a shampoo that is not ph balanced to 5.5 (the balance of skin and hair) will strip away your skins hydrolipidic layer (your skins defence against bacteria, etc) your skin then produces more oil to protect itself - hence the "greasy" appearance of your roots. Use a range like Redken or MOP which can be used every day, but you will probably find that you wont need to wash your hair that often once it is balanced.

Hey,
I find that Virgin Vie detox shampoo works really well, it's like a once a week thing, rather than everytime you shampoo, but it's quite natural and excellent at stripping out any build up, and that stops it getting greasy quick. I don't know of such a good conditioner though, but I use Dove conditioning masks all they're ace. Hope it helps.

'i love juicy' by lush. it's lovely. i also find if i just wash the roots and just condition the ends it helps. the soap when you rinse does the rest & there's some detergent in conditioner that does a bit of washing. by not conditioning the roots i find they are less greasy x

eta. know what you mean - i can wash every other day with this, i always try to leave it as long as possible between washes because the natural oils are good for your hair. if i need to go a third day i'll put it up and dust with a bit of baby powder (not too much or it goes white!), can't leave it much longer as it 'feels' dirty.

i like a shampoo called 'Happy Hippy' from a shop called Lush. if u don't have a store near u, u can order it online. (lush.com) all of the products are made with natural ingredients, so if a product says it is lemon scented or jasmine scented, it means that it really does contain that ingredient. the 'happy hippy' shampoo contains lemons and grapefuit, and it smells wonderful - not like some shampoos that claim to be lemon scented, but just smell just like washing up liquid ! (yuck!) and it leaves your hair feeling soft & light, not heavy & greasy like some moisturisng shampoos do. it really is worth a try - as are most of their other products. give their bath bombs a try too - they are fantastic !!!

well there not a lot that will help i have the same problem and im a hairdresser, use a shampoo with lemon and or egg in it. when washing your hair try not to rub your scalp to much as this stimulates the glands in your scalp. lee stafford also does a good "second day spray" give it a go and good luck

It's not really shampoo but it works. I know some people who have really oily hair use Dawn dishsoap. Good luck!

Rinse it with vinegar. This will de-grease it and leave it shining.
Obviously rinse the vinegar out too or you may smell like a chip shop.
