This poor starving tomcat came to our backdoor. He was starving and in very bad condition. We fed him and took him to the vet to be checked and neutered. He was the friendliest cat I had ever seen. Now he is getting plenty of proper food and shelter but he is no longer that affectionate cat.

Yes it somewhat change them. Remember he was starving and you took good care of him. He just mad right now he'll get over it, just keep giving him love he'll come around, if not then starve him so he'll remember what life was before you took care of him. Just kidding.

He not only got neutered but you have changed his life style as well. He needs to adapt to his new living arrangements and being neutered getting the attention he is getting. Give him time and he will adjust. he won't be quite the same but he will come around and be lovable.

yes it does, in minor ways. i neutered my cat, oreo, and he became more lazy and basically wanted to just eat and sleep. also he got less friendly too. he used to be very tolerent and affecitonate but now he is unsocialable and hisses every time you grab him by the scruff on his neck. i still luv my cat and there's no reason why you shouldn't also.

He's had a traumatic event occur. Try letting him have some alone time & slowly start back cuddling & loving on him to gain his trust back. You have a big heart I can tell. Thanks for helping keep pet population down. Good Luck
