You could do a nice non-sweet slightly dry Chardonnay. The Raymond Chardonnay is a nice one for under $20. http://www.wine.com/wineshop/product_detail.asp?PProduct_ID=CLW814782_2004

But, the Chard that I'd recommend, if you can find it, would be the Maryhill Reserve. http://www.maryhillwinery.com/store_Item.asp?txtItem=2000BS&txtcat=1|Wine&txtcatindex=7

For this, the more oak and richness, the better. Hess also has a nice one to keep an eye out for.

Personally, with any Alfredo dish, I'd do a Pinot Noir or a Bubbly. On the budget end, the Schramsberg Mirabelle Rose (the regular is great too) would be my first go to choice. An Archery Summit Cuvee would be my red choice.

Actually, I'd even consider a Chateauneuf De Pape. The E Guigal that I have blends SO WELL with cheeses and dairy that they could be spectacular together. It's not heavy at all and wouldn't overpower the dish. http://www.wine.com/wineshop/product_detail.asp?PProduct_ID=GPW136449_2003

As you can tell, I'm not a big fan of the "White with White Red with Red". I drink what goes well together, no matter the colour. : )

I'd go with a white wine. Chenin Blanc has a nice acidity to it that would cut through the richness of the alfredo sauce. It would act as a palette cleanser so that the sauce would taste even richer after a sip. Bonny Doon is inexpensive (about $15 a bottle) and I love it!

Italian Margarita, Same as regular margarita on the rocks except add a shot of amaretto. Wet the edge of the glass and coat in colored or regular sugar. These are really good.
