Sounds like all you need are some crushed tomatoes and some tomatoe juice and you are ready to go. You can also use V8 juice.

To hamburger mixture....add crushed tomato with juice and seasonings (Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, salt and chili powder). Simmer on low heat 1 hour.
Add remaining ingredients (beans and celery) and simmer 1/2 hour longer.
You have to adjust your seasoning depending on how hot your hot sauce and/or Chili powder is.

I add one can of diced tomatoes with jalapenos or chile greens, and a can of yellow corn - also mix up the beans, not only red kidney beans, but black beans and chick peas - make it colorful ! Also, use ground turkey, not beef - it's healthier, and to tell you the truth, most people won't know the difference.

You can do what I do. Go to Derwienerschnitzel and get a carton of chili. Throw it in a pot and let everyone know how hard you have been drinking...Uh, I mean working.

Rice, tomato (veggie or canned) and any veggie you have in the fridge. Green peppers are great!
