Some cults, such as "Holiness" or "Pentecostal Holiness" or "United Pentecostal Church", and several others in extreme fundamentalist Christianity The scripture they use has something like... a woman shall not wear anything pertaining to a man. (Deut. 22:5) and other scriptures are twisted to state that women shall not have their hair "bobbed" which means cut. The spirit behind this garbage is to keep women subordinate to men. Damn! I missed it last nite. From what you wrote, I sure wish I saw it. Anyway, I'm Christian, and I've heard that before. At the time of Christ, men wore the equivilent of what a dress is to a woman - they would pull it up and tuck it into the belt part, in order to engage in war, should they be attacked. So, actually, when Scripture says to not wear the attire of a man, and someone wants to make something of it, then a woman SHOULD wear pants, not a dress. So thats stupid. As for the hair, I think its
referring to 1 Corin 11:15 - but really it doesn't matter if women have long hair or not, - if you back up a few, maybe 5, verses - you'll see that a woman should always have her head covered (by Chris) because of the Angels.
At the time of Noah, the reason for the flood was that Angels were giving and taking in marriage to human women and producing Children. God sent the flood to rid the earth of these hybrids. Scripture says that in the end times, it will be just like in those days of Noah -
The Angels will be returning.
The woman on the show was so far off the mark, its ridiculous.
No, God doesn't care what you wear; its only stated that its not proper for a woman to dress like a whore - but thats just good common sense, now isn't it.

I really wanted to catch it, but I don't have cable, so that was kinda hard to do. Yes, I knew that Petland puppies = puppy mill puppies. I can only hope that a good amount people watched it and chose not to go to a petstore for their next puppy. No, I don't think more people will go to reputable breeders or adopt. If anything, more people will just buy from BYBs. When I first went to Petland, I was a little kid. I wanted a puppy, but my mom explained to me about puppy mills and that was that. I've read many horrible things happen to ignorant people who bought a puppy there, and that's enough to sicken me. Of course I want Petland and any other pet store selling puppies to go down. Let's hope for more education on the subject!

Both of the concepts come from the Bible.
In 1 Corinthians 11:14-15 it says,
14 Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him?
15 But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her, for her hair is given to her for a covering.
In Deuteronomy 22:5 it says,
5 "A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman's garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.
It is funny that when a woman reaches middle age, they cut their hair short, and wear pants suits.
Just about all the older women in our church wear pants suits, and have shorter hair than they did when they were young.
As an minister, I do not find a problem with either.
A woman with shorter hair still has a covering on her head, it need not go down her back.
I would have a problem with a woman who has her head shaved.
I would see that as an act of defiance.
I have no problem with women wearing pants suits to church.
I have more problem with women that try to wear the pants in the family; i.e. have authority over their husband.

I watched the end of it with my wife, they were Mennonites. They take passages about women being MODEST a great distance. While I dont agree with them personally on many issues, Im glad they are striving to serve God and conform to his word even if they arent doing the best job. The other family on the hand wasnt making much of an effort and you see what the blond wife pretty much thinks of God right at the end. (not much at all)
God does want women to be modest in dress and speech so it is your responsiblity to put these words into practice the best you can. I take such things to mean that women shouldnt dress with their boobs half-showing and pants that are so tight its near cutting off circulation running around the church causing trouble gossiping, making bad jokes, talking about things they shouldnt be talking about, and showing general disrespect towards their husbands and the leadership of the church.

It's Fundamental Christianity. It's based on a verse in the New Testament (the part about the hair).
It's a modesty thing. Modesty is keeping the body in check so you don't cause other believers to sin, and yes, God cares about that.

Those would be various forms of Pentecostal Christians. In the bible it tells women not to braid their hair, wear jewelry or otherwise decorate themselves or wear clothing a man would wear. If you want the appropriate verses, let me know and I'll edit.

There is no where in the Holy Bible that says, "Women thou shall wear dresses or skirts from now on..." Or "thou shall not wear pants." It's not in there...any-where!
As for cutting the hair, Paul tells us in Corinthians that a woman's hair is her glory and we should not shave our heads. It doesn't say we can't cut our hair.
