I woke up this morning and I fliped the covers over to get up and ready for school, and I noticed on my Doberman, Hammer, a Large lump on his back. And it didnt bother him becuase he was still sleeping on my bed. But i touched it and could put my hand around it comfortably ( im 15, so my hand isnt that big, roughly the width side of the keyboard long) and put a little pressure on it, and it hurt him. He turned around and moved my hand with his nose. I called my mom and she came over and looked at it, and she didnt know what it was either. Well when i got hom from school I took a look at it and noticed it was a bit smaller and It looked like a long lump the size of a squished lemon, and on top, a smaller longish lump the size of a peanut. She told me she had iced it a little and it kinda went down. And she caleld the vet for tomorrow at one. But what could it be.
I think 1, a bite. 2, a welt. 3, My MOST worst fear, is a cancerous tumor. I just dont know, It wasent like that yesterday.

In order to determine exactly what it is you'll need to take your dog to a vet.

It could just be fluid build up due to an infection, which they can drain it. It could be a cyst, which maybe benign or cancerous which they can determine in a biopsy. I'm doubting its cancerous because cancer doesn't grow overnight like that, unless it was there and you never noticed it. It's probably somewhere he got scratched or bit and its infected. Take him to a vet right away, they will get him right in. Hope everything pans out with your dog well.

Do not touch it or heavens forbid even press on it . Whatever it is, it isn't gonna get better by pushing on it . Get that poor thing to the vet . It's a little too high or I would say it could be a hernia . Make sure you don't accidentally roll over on him . I had a Doberman years ago.She was a terrific dog and a real buddy .I wish you the best. Let us know what it is tomorrow if you can . I care .
Good Luck

It sounds to me like a bite or other allergic reaction, a cancerous tumor will NOT go down with icing.

Being it got smaller, it sounds like an infection. Nonetheless, get a professional opinion. I have included a link below to help your pet naturally and you may want to keep it bookmarked for future reference.

You know what? I'm betting that your vet will know. Why don't you write back and tell US what it was.
