Carpet is available in 3 widths 12', 13'6", and 15' wide. You'll want to try to keep your seam out of high traffic areas. Try to put it on a back wall that is covered by furnishings. Keep it out of an area that has light streaming in from windows and other light sources. Again to try to hide. If you look you will be able to see the seam so try to hide it as much as possible. Cut pile carpet will hide them best. Loops and paterns are a little more tricky and will require a really good installer. 15' goods would require a tremendous amount of waste. Your carpet will be installed all in the same direction. If you turn the carpet the pile will reflect the light differenly and will show. The best method to seam carpet is using a T-Seam. Generally you need to add 3 inches to each cut for trimming. If you choose 12' goods:
15' 3" x 22' 3" is your room.
12 x 22' 3" is your first cut
12 x 7' 6" is your second
Total of 12 x 29' 9" is the minimum amount of carpet to cover the space. 357 sq. ft.

If you choose 13' 6" to keep you seam closer to the wall.
You wil need:
13' 6" x 22' 3"
13' 6" x 7' 6"
13' 6" x 29' 7"
equals 402 sq. ft.

These cuts are based upon using a 3 piece fill. This is the best possible installation. If you need to shave costs you can use a maximum fill of 5 pieces.
12' = 12 x 26' 9" = 321 sq. ft.
13'6" = 13' 6" x 26'9" = 361 sq. ft.

Good luck with your carpet installation.

Most Carpet is purchased by the yard, or running foot. They are 12 or 15 foot rools, this will make it hard for you. there may have to be a seam in it. if you get 2 pieces of 12 foot carpet at 16' loong you will have a seem in the middle. However, most carpet stretches and may make up the extra 3/4 of an inch to make a 15' piece strech to 15 and 3/4. ask the salesman what he thinks. but over all.. your square footage is 368 or divide that by 9 for a square yard and you have about 30 . 1 running foot of a 12 roll is 12 sq feet and a 15 foot rol is 15 sq feet. :-)
