True Physiology fact: Whilst your body needs oxygen to surive, it's the CO2 buildup during breath-holding that forces you to breathe. You can prolong breath-holding by hyperventilating for a short period of time first.
....... So ask her to give you a minute's warning ......
Also gives you the time to lie down first so you don't faint with dizziness!.

your brain needs oxygen to work, so you have to breath. If you don't the brain will go unconsious so you can't willfully hold your breath anymore and you will recover a short time after normal breathing resumes. get a new girl freind.

no oxygen gets to your brain when you hold your breath, that would explain the dizziness.

I dont know, try holding it for an hour and see what happens.
Even better, try holding your head under water for an hour.
