No.
There is currently no known association between Lichen Planus and HIV.

The cause is unknown.

What is known, is that there is a medicine-induced form of Lichen Planus. NSAIDs, ACE inhibitors, beta-blockers, and several other common medications have been linked to Lichen Planus.

Also, there have been some links between Lichen Planus and liver disease, such as that caused by Hepatitis C. There is also some suggested links with Ulcerative Colitis and Myasthenia Gravis.

But many people don't fit any of the above categories, but are suspected to have a gentic predisposition or an autoimmune system problem.

Thankfully, most of the time, Lichen Planus goes away within a couple of years (unless in the mouth...).

Hope this helped some!
