How to prevent yourself from being bored when studying?

I have really dry material that I need to read and learn. How do I keep myself interested?

It wasn't so much getting board as getting distracted. I got things done in the library because it was quiet (no rap music), no TV, no beer, and near books and a copier. Not as many sexual distractions, but better than I did in the bars.

turn off all the things that would tempt you to get off topic like the computer, ipod, tv, ect. isolate yourself in a room and just start reading!
