They use the trees to seperate the trails. With no trees there is no way to keep beginers off of black diamonds and ect. If you are an 50 year old skiier i dont think you really want to be going to the terrain park because there are no trails. With out trees there are no trails, just a big hill!

I learned first hand today why....
To block the wind! In the open area's the wind was brutal.
And like the others said
1. The tree's were already there
2. Blocks avelanches
3. How can you have trails without any trees
4. Makes it more fun.!

because they people who started the mountain started with this mountain with all trees and they had to cutt down all the trees so that is why there is trees on a ski mountain =)
