BAKED PORK CHOPS

Ingredients:

6 pork chops
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
2 egg, beaten
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups Italian-style seasoned bread crumbs
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup white wine
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Rinse pork chops, pat dry, and season with garlic powder and seasoning salt to taste. Place the beaten eggs in a small bowl. Dredge the pork chops lightly in flour, dip in the egg, and coat liberally with bread crumbs.
Heat the oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the pork chops 5 minutes per side, or until the breading appears well browned. Transfer the chops to a 9x13 inch baking dish, and cover with foil.
Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour. While baking, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk and white wine in a medium bowl. After the pork chops have baked for an hour, cover them with the soup mixture. Replace foil, and bake for another 30 minutes.

There are lots of ways to cook porkchops in the oven. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Pork Chops with Macaroni and Cheese

Bone in thin pork chops
1/2 onion
Your favorite Mac and Cheese
4 oz of cream cheese

Salt and pepper pork chops and brown in olive oil in a hot skillet. Set aside and add sliced onion. Add salt and pepper to taste. While they are cooking, make Mac and cheese and add cream cheese to final product. Place Mac and cheese in baking dish and put chops on top. Place onions evenly on chops, cover and bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes.

Pork Chops and Saurkraut

Bone in, thin porkchops
1 jar saurkraut
3 T brown sugar
1 granny smith apple, chopped

Salt and pepper chops, brown in olive oil and set aside. Mix saurkraut with brown sugar and chopped apple and place in baking dish. Place chops on top and cover with foil. Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. These are good with mashed potatoes!

www.FarmerJohn.com for recipes and cooking tips for pork.

I cook my pork chops on the stove top.

Yesterday, I used a glaze of 1/4 cup of sage honey, 1/2 teaspoon of ginger, 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves and 1/8 teaspoon of Casia Cinnamon for 2 1/2 inch chops. That recipe came from Cooking Light.
